The Truth is, I Am
- There is one fire that enters the world
- and assumes the forms of the objects it enters.
- Likewise, the one inner Self of all beings
- assumes the form of whatever it enters,
- while continuing to exist outside all forms.
One fire -- it enters the world and becomes everything: the one inner Self is contained in and becomes or objects, all forms, all names.
- There is one air that enters the world
- and assumes the forms of the objects it enters.
- Likewise, the one inner Self of all beings
- assumes the form of whatever it enters,
- while continuing to exist outside all forms.
One air pervades both the body and the mind. Within the body there is one inner Self had that same inner Self exists everywhere. Just as the air permeates everything and everybody, so the inner Self permeates everybody and everything.
- The sun, which is the eye of the whole world
- is not affected by the impurities
- of the eyes of the common people
- which are external to it.
- Likewise, the one inner Self of all beings
- is not affected by the sorrows of the world,
- which are external to it.
The sun is not stained or influenced by the impurities that exist in people's gaze, in people's eyes. Nor is it influenced by people's perceptions as to how it should or should not be. The sun is free from such things.
People try to understand spirituality through words created by the mind. Words created by the mind are limitations. Only when we can move beyond the limitations of words and beliefs, only when we elevate ourselves beyond our need for acceptance and approval in the eyes of others will we know: and then, we will understand.
The sun illuminates all. Everybody sees the sun, but not everybody understands it. The sun does not stop illuminating all, just because it is not understood by all. The sun continues to give its light. The sun knows itself. When you know the knower, then you will know your own Self.
- This is the Divine one.
- The inner Self of all beings
- makes one form manifold.
- Only those steadfast ones
- who realise the self as seated in the Self
- experience eternal freedom.
- This freedom does not belong to anyone else.
- This freedom only belong to the being
- who knows his own Self.
For one who has recognised and experienced the awareness of the Self and constantly lives in it, the self is everywhere. It is not confined to a monk's cell, nor to a palace. The enlightened one does not restrict himself to renouncing or to accumulating. There is harmony within the freedom. There is both negation and abundance.
